Wanaka is a town with 7000 inhabitants in the Otago region – South Island of New Zealand. Surrounded by mountains and with its big lake at the centre, Wanaka offers gorgeous landscapes. I completely fell in love with it. As you can see, all my pictures look like postcards (no Photoshop, I swear!).
The two previous photographs have been taken after a small hike up Mount Iron.
The next one is I think the most beautiful picture I took in my life. It’s a tree in the lake itself. Looks like a painting.
If you go to Wanaka, you have to stop at the Rippon vineyard to have a free wine tasting (and buy a bottle or two). Great quality guaranteed! This is the view from their lands.
And if you want to spend a few hours go to Puzzling World. Funny pictures, giant maze and illusions to blow your mind.
Originally I planned to stay only one night in Wanaka. But I really loved it and stayed 3 nights to relax and enjoy the view.
By the way, if you like skiing or snowboarding, Wanaka is said to be really nice in the winter too and offers plenty of ski tracks.
