We left our bags at The Barn, a really great hostel for backpackers. If you explore the surroundings, you will see this long bridge with a lot of love words written with the rocks on the sand :
It was a beautiful sunny day, as we were lazing on the boat and contemplating the wonder of nature. We stopped sometimes to see the seals and it was really relaxing. After this half day boat trip, the skipper dropped us on a beach, a few kilometers from the camp. It was time to come back by foot. So we did a part of one of the New Zealand Great Walks: the Abel Tasman Coast Track. It’s a mix of small paths in the rainforest with waterfalls, rivers and an amazing view of the beaches :
The next day we visited the Tasman Sea with a kayak, which is the best way to see the seals and to explore the small islands :
When you do the kayaking you can see a lot of seals sunbathing on the rocks or playing around you in the water :
That little guy made my day by doing a show around my kayak for around 10 minutes :
This is a short time-lapse video I did with my GoPro of the sunset from the beach near The Barn :
I really liked Marahau for its nature, walks and incredible views. It was an unforgettable experience, one of my highlights of New Zealand.
